Areas of protected landscapes cover the areas, which are taken under protection, because of their outstanding, diversified landscape. They are very valuable due to touristic matters. They also perform a function of ecological corridors.
On the area of Krosno Forest District two lands of protected landscape are located:
- "The Forest by Pliszka River" - area of 5271.08 ha,
- "The Krosno Valley of Odra River" - area of 183.85 ha.

Within the Forest District Krosno area, there predominate coniferous forest sites with pine dominance.
Main forest communities:
- pine forests
- mixed coniferous forests
- beech forests
- oak – hornbeam forests
- oak forests
- riparian forests
